your bot wants something

A tiny bot pops out next to your notch when one of your Grok Bot agents is waiting for you. Everyone else stays asleep.

building it yourself, starting with this prompt

Build me a small native macOS app from scratch. Work directly on my Mac, show me progress after each step and iterate with me until I'm happy.
1. Stack: Swift and SwiftUI as a Swift Package (macOS 14 or later), no third party dependencies, plus a build script that produces a runnable .app bundle.
2. The app lives in the MacBook notch: a black, borderless, always on top panel that blends into the notch. On Macs without a notch, show a small black pill centered at the top of the screen instead.
3. It shows which of my Grok Bot agents are waiting for me. Read their state from the Grok Bot desktop app's local agent roster on this Mac. Find it first, tell me exactly what you plan to read and wait for my OK.
4. Strictly read only: never read secrets, cookies, tokens or message contents, and never write, move or lock any Grok Bot file. Watch the roster with a light file watcher or timer.
5. Layout: my main bot sleeps on the left side of the notch. Every agent that is waiting for me appears on the right as a small bot with a blue dot.
6. Hovering the notch smoothly expands it into a panel with a preview of each waiting agent: name, a one line summary of what it needs (from roster status fields only) and how long it has been waiting.
7. Clicking an agent opens its chat in the Grok Bot app (use a deep link if the app has one, otherwise bring the app to the front).
8. A global keyboard shortcut toggles the panel, Esc closes it.
9. A menu bar item with a short setup window: launch at login, the shortcut, which agents to show, quit.
10. Keep the logic (roster parsing, waiting detection, sorting) separate from the UI and cover it with unit tests (swift test) that use fixture files, never my real data.
11. When it works, build the .app with the script, launch it, take screenshots of the notch closed and expanded, and show them to me. Make sure no message contents are visible in the screenshots.

Asleep until it matters

Bots sleep with closed eyes. When one asks you something or sends a new message, it wakes up with a blue dot and jumps to the front.

One click to chat

Hover the notch to see every bot in one row. Click a bot and its chat opens in Grok Bot. It goes back to sleep. Rest the cursor on a waiting bot for 3 seconds and it is marked as read, no chat opened.

Peek before you switch

Hover a bot to read the first two lines of its last message. Tell right away if it matters, without opening Grok Bot.

Works without a notch

On an external monitor it draws its own notch, only while someone is waiting. When everyone sleeps, nothing is on screen. Rest the cursor at the top center for a moment and the notch slides down with all your bots, then hides again.

Snooze or mute a bot

Right click a bot: remind me in 30 min, 1 hour or 3 hours. It sleeps and wakes up by itself if it still wants you. Or never wake me for this bot: it stays in the row, asleep, with a small mute icon.

One shortcut, from anywhere

Option Command G opens the chat of the bot that is waiting and marks it read. Nobody waiting? It shows all your bots. Record your own shortcut in Setup.

While you were away

Lock your Mac or step away for more than 10 minutes. When you are back, the notch shows for a few seconds which bots spoke, like 3 bots while you were away. Never the messages themselves.

Stay in flow. Get pinged only when needed.

Native, lightweight, flat. No dock icon.
